It takes a lot of strength to take that first step in seeking counseling. I fully recognize your courage, and also appreciate everything that has led you to pursuing counseling in the first place. Sometimes we may become so frozen by all of the “what if” scenarios, planning for our future, and a general fear of things we can’t control. Other times we may get caught dwelling on the past and all of the things we wished we had done or “should” have done. Whether it’s your first time seeking counseling or you are continuing your therapy, you are an individual with a unique set of identities, experiences, and a story to tell. As such, your treatment requires a unique plan tailored to your individual needs. My clients come from all walks of life with a common goal: to reclaim their lives and to establish a new relationship with their personal story.

My name is Alex Morelli, and I’m a Mental Health Counselor (MHC) in the state of New York. A San Diego, CA native, I moved to Buffalo to attend the University at Buffalo for my MS in Mental Health Counseling.  Having been raised in a gym environment, I realized that exercise was as much mental as it was physical. After years of training and aiding others in their fitness goals, I decided to return to school and pursue my counseling credentials to combine my two passions: mental health and exercise.

In addition to being a permitted counselor with the ability to provide clinical care and mental health services, I am also a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) that has been in the health and fitness industry for over 12 years. By recognizing the relationship between the mind and the body, I am able to assist you in treating your symptoms of depression and anxiety with exercises, physical activities, and tailored programs for your individual needs and desires. My programming for clients incorporates mental health practices into training regimens to create a unique experience that helps you overcome plateaus, practice mindful movements, and enjoy exercise.

I chose to open my practice at Be Embodied, LLC because we have a shared mission of helping others through integrative and holistic models in caring for clients. In addition to recognizing the relationship and benefits of treating both the mind and body, Be Embodied, LLC represents the ideal therapeutic environment for all clients. Their core beliefs in recognizing that clients are humans first, and are not identified as their diagnosis or symptoms, provides a truly safe-environment free from judgment and stigma.
