Having a bad day? Start a new one!

This photo was taken on the SAME beach in the morning after sunrise (cloudy) and later that SAME day at sunset!

Have you ever had one of those days where you’re feeling as though this is a, “BAD” day. It could be that you were criticized by a boss, a client, a friend or family member. It could be as simple as spilling your morning coffee or not getting enough sleep the night before. This one seemingly annoying experience could send you spiraling the rest of the day… If you let it.

Your mindset is something that you can control. Yes, even YOU that got a flat tire heading into work today! Mindset is within your control. And a mindset isn't tied to a 24 hour schedule. If you are having a bad day, simply start a NEW day with a new mindset at any part of your day.

This means that if you woke up on the wrong side of the bed, you can start a whole new 24 hour day by the time you go to brush your teeth!

The present moment is all that matters. It is all that we can control. We can’t control or alter the past because it’s lost to time. We can’t control or alter the future because it hasn’t happened yet. If something unfortunate or bad happens, try focusing on the present moment and the start to a new day.

One way to start a new day, reflect on those things that you are grateful for. Build that list and remind yourself of the things that are going well in your life. If you are struggling with this list, I’m happy to help!
